Füssen, Germany

August 25, 2005

We left Nürnberg yesterday afternoon for Füssen, Germany to see the Neuchwanstein Castle. It is a place that Luke has been before as a boy with this family. We slept well, had breakfast and are spending a bit of time at the internet cafe before hopping the bus to the castle. The internet cafe is playing (loudly) 80's music and I am in heaven =).

Back to the castle...it is supposed to what Walt Disney model the Magic Kingdom after. I can't wait to see it. The train into the Alps last night was beautiful with fog settling into to low areas. More later after the tours! Ciao

---- We had a great day touring the fairytale castle of King Ludwig II. It's crowded & a little cheesy, but still really beautiful. We took the bus up & walked around a bunch, then took the 30 min. walk back to town.

We had dinner in Füssen and caught the 7:00 train back to Munich. Hung out with some other english speaking kids at the train station - which was kind of fun. Back in Munich, it was a bit dodgy finding out hotel, but it turned out to be a cute place - even if there was only one shower for the whole hotel. (not so good really)

We catch the train to Salzberg then through Austria to Graz, then down into Slovenia. Long travel day, but we'll get to see Tanja & Andrej tonight. Cheers!
