Holidays Point, Australia

December 14, 2005

Hey everyone, sorry about the lack of updates. I think we're back on track though.

We had a great time in Canberra - all the sick time aside. We took a weekend trip down to Kosciusko National Park to visit the highest point in Australia. We camped out by the lake and watched mountian bikers at Threadbo ski area. We saw lots of Kangaroos, but in spite of all the signs, no wombats. Nichole was so sad.

Maybe no wombats in Kosciusko, but we're going to see Koalas today in Port Maquarie! We also have to get our camper fixed. A bit of a bummer, but a quick battery change, and we'll be off north. (remember north is warmer here)

Learning to navigate ourselves is a new challenge, but Nichole has adapted very quickly (no suprise really) and she lead us to the most beautiful sunset of the trip! We got to eat salami sandwitches on the shores of Wallis lake while the sun lit up the sky and the fish jumped out of the lake just to catch a glimpse. I'm not kidding!

Our little toyota hilux camper is great (if a little slow on the hills) and it feels like a little home for us. We get to make our own breakfast and dinner, and stop wherever we like for lunch or a nap (or both). We drove up from Sydney through the Blue Mountains yesterday after stopping off to see the Sydney Opera House and have delicious dumplings in Chinatown.

We added some pics to the canberra entry too.

love to everyone!
