Maribor, Slovenija

August 29, 2005

LUKE: We had a great day yesterday exploring the coast of Slovenija. We visted a cool old castle, checked out the climbing area of Osp, and wandered the narrow little streets of Piran. Overall a really fun day. The weather was much nicer too. Still raining back in Maribor though. I can see why Slovenians love their country so much. Piran is such a cool little coast town, with the narrowest streets you've ever seen. Just a couple feet wide!

We added a bunch of pics (even from back in Füssen). Trying to stay on top of it :)

You can also leave us messages now. And I think the photogalleries are working properly also.

NICHOLE: It was so wonderful to have a visit with Tonya and Andre as part our trip! Much thanks to them for sharing their home with us and for their generousity in driving us around to some of their favorite spots. We had a great meal with Tonya's family at her parent's home. It was wonderful to meet her mom and dad and her brother, his wife and their 2 sweet children.

The city of Maribor was comfy and easy to be in. There were good English language book stores where I picked up the first 2 copies of Harry Potter -- I am so behind because I just finished having to study all the time! Also a wonderful tea (caj) house where I sat alone and read Harry Potter all afternoon.

Luke and I both loved this place and the ease of getting to both the coast and the mountains. Although we only made it to the coast of Slovenia (where it meets the Adriatic Sea with Italy and Croatia) and not to its mountains -- Next time!
